Kyle Koehmstedt, Minot, accused of interference with 911 call

Kyle Koehmstedt, 30, Minot, is accused of preventing his girlfriend from making an emergency phone call during a domestic altercation on Tuesday. He is charged with a Class C felony in district court in Minot.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Koehmstedt and his girlfriend were arguing because she thought he was cheating on her. The woman told police that Koehmstedt was breaking items and she was afraid he would hurt her. She said she was calling the police and Koehmstedt took the phone away from her and threw it at the wall. A dispatcher reported hearing a woman screaming on the other end of the call, that the caller yelled out an address, and then the call was cut off.
