Concrete grinding to begin this week in three downtown Minot locations

Crews will be working in three areas of downtown Minot this week to conduct concrete grinding.

The work is expected to begin Wednesday morning and will include flagging traffic through the work areas.

“This warranty work is designed to correct the scaling issues we’re seeing with some of the concrete panels from year two of the Downtown Minot Infrastructure Improvements project,” said City Engineer Lance Meyer. “There will be flaggers set up to help guide vehicles through the work zones, and we hope to minimize the impact on traffic as much as possible.”

The three work areas include:

– First Avenue Southeast from Main Street, including the intersection, to First Street Southeast. This work is projected to take one full day and possibly part of Thursday. Today, the parking areas on First Avenue Southeast will be coned off to keep parked cars off that block during the work. A flagging operation will be set up to flag cars through the work zone and intersection at Main Street.

– Intersection of Main Street and Second Avenue. This work is projected to last a half day. A flagging operation will be set up to flag cars through the work zone and intersection at Main Street.

– Intersection of Second Avenue Southwest/First Street Southwest. This work is projected to last a half day. A flagging operation will be set up to flag cars through the work zone and intersection at Second Avenue.

The affected roadways will be re-striped next spring due to the current cold temperatures.

Starting at $2.99/week.
