Man pleads not guilty to theft of property

A 21-year-old Minot man has pleaded not guilty to felony theft of property charges.

According to court documents, Tegan David Lamotte is one of two men accused of making unauthorized use of a clam ice house and fishing accessories and an otter ice house belonging to others between Jan. 27 and Jan. 29. Lamotte is charged with two Class C felony theft of property charges.

His co-defendant, Nathan Schlosser, 22, pleaded guilty to one Class C felony theft of property charge on May 6. The second felony count was dismissed. Schlosser was ordered to serve 15 days of in jail. He was sentenced to one year in jail, with all but the 15 days suspended, 18 months of supervised probation and 100 community service hours. He must also pay $1,125 in court costs. If he successfully completes probation, the charge will appear on his record as a misdemeanor. Schlosser was also ordered to stay away from Lamotte until Nov. 6, 2018.

A pretrial conference for Lamotte is scheduled for July 20 before North Central District Court Judge Richard Hagar.
