Minot man sentenced for church burglary
Levi Shane Cook, 22, Minot, will serve one year and one day in prison for burglarizing the Our Savior Lutheran Church office in Minot last month. He was also sentenced Friday to three years of supervised probation on the Class C felony charge.The state dropped a possession of stolen property charge against Cook.
Judge Richard Hagar recommended that Cook be considered for placement at the Tompkins Rehabilitation and Corrections Center in Jamestown during his incarceration. The center provides treatment for chemical dependency issues.
Cook pleaded guilty to burglarizing the church on Feb. 14 during a hearing Friday afternoon in North Central District Court.
