Jonathan Layne, 37, Minot, is accused of physically assaulting his fiancee Saturday morning and then holding her in a basement and refusing to allow her to leave, according to Minot police.

Police say that the woman walked into the police station and reported the alleged crime. The woman was treated at Trinity Hospital for her injuries.

Layne is being charged with felonious restraint, a Class C felony, and simple assault-domestic violence, a Class B misdemeanor. He is being held at the Ward County Jail.
