Minot City Band to bring music to the stage

The Minot City Band, conducted by Joseph Alme, will present their seventh and eighth concerts of the 2018 concert season on Sunday, July 1. The 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances will be held in the band shell in Oak Park.

A variety of music will be performed, including works by LeRoy Anderson, Percy Grainger, James Swearingen, Edwin Franko Goldman, John Philip Sousa, and others. A highlight of the program will be a “Star Wars Medley” by John Williams featuring many of the tunes from the famous movie. “Selections from ‘Annie'” is a band arrangement that will showcase many of the melodies from the musical of the same name.

The concert will conclude with the patriotic “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” arranged by Roy Ringwald.

The concert is free and open to the public.
