The “Back-to-School” season is upon us. For some, that brings anxious thoughts. For others, it is an exciting time – a time to meet new friends, foster existing relationships, participate in a wealth of enjoyable activities, and most importantly, an opportunity to engage in learning. Minot Christian Women to hold luncheon Sept. 11

The Minot Christian Women will hold a luncheon from 12:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 11 at the KC Club. The cost is $13. A women’s quartet, “High Maintenance” from Bottineau will give a mini concert. Judi Bauscher, Sioux Falls, S.D., will speak about “The Pictures of Life.” The KC Club is located at 2601 North Broadway in Minot. Serra Club raised $11,000 at benefit event

About $11,000 was raised by the Serra Club of North Central North Dakota at the Big Smoke event held in Minot as a benefit for seminarians and others in religious formation, according to a press release from Grace Fisher. According to Michael Ruelle of Minot, president of the club, the money is being distributed to four religious entities. The largest sum, $8,700, will go to the seminarians of the Bismarck Catholic Diocese.
