Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot will delay its opening time to 12 p.m. on Saturday. With the North Dakota State Parade making its way on Burdick Expressway to the fairgrounds, access to the zoo and parking will be directly impacted by the parade route and spectators. When the zoo opens at noon, it will remain open until its regular closing time at 8 p.m.

Race teams were ready to row at the Minot Park District’s Cardboard Canoe Race at Roosevelt Park Pool Friday evening. Unfortunately Mother Nature rolled in some drama of her own, sinking the competition before it could truly begin. The cardboard and duct tape boats were built to row across the pool in an annual contest judging speed, design and dramatic sinking.
