Powwows, also known as celebration, on the Fort Berthold Reservation bring together families and friends to celebrate history and culture of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara people. Heritage Park celebrates Scandinavian culture

The Shirley Bicentennial Park, more commonly known as the Scandinavian Heritage Park, is open from May 17-Oct. 1. Volunteers are stationed at the Gol Stave church during this season Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The park honors five countries – Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland – and is the only park in the world dedicated to all five. Cancer can be a scary diagnosis, and nearly everyone has been touched in some way by its reality. Members of Minot Pink Ladies each have their own stories of how cancer diagnoses in family and friends have impacted their lives. It was for that reason they came together through a dart league to raise money to help individuals facing cancer battles.
