GARRISON – Fort Stevenson State Park will welcome the fall season with Oktober Family Fest on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 4-8 p.m., featuring vibrant entertainment and a taste of German tradition. The public is invited to attend this family-friendly event, which will include authentic German flavors, polka music by Kuchen County and axe throwing games. The park charges a $7 vehicle entrance fee unless a current North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department annual pass is displayed. The Minot Public Library will celebrate the start of its 2024-2025 Sweater Weather Reading Challenge on Thursday, Sept. 26. People of all ages are invited to participate in the challenge and attend the cozy and fun-filled kickoff party, according to a library news release.
