Community Rocks! donates to area organizations
A number of local charities received donations from Community Rocks! at a gifting ceremony Monday.
According to the board of directors, $4,500 was donated to area organizations from proceeds from the Summer Community Rocks Concert that took place Saturday, Aug. 24. The funds were distributed as follows:
– $500 to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center on behalf of the Community Rocks! Orchestra.
– $500 to the F5 Project on behalf of Community Rocks! vocalists.
– $500 to The Lord’s Pantry Food Cupboard on behalf of lead vocalist Jazmine Wolff-Schultz.
– $500 to BIO Girls on behalf of emcees Kristi & Keli Rosselli-Sullivan.
– $500 to the Meals on Wheels fund of the Minot Commission on Aging on behalf of sound and tech provider Brandon Trondson from More Than Music.
– $500 to the Minot Area Council of the Arts on behalf of graphic designer Kristin Michels.
– $500 to the Souris Valley United Way on behalf of photographer Rick Heit.
– $500 to the Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry on behalf of Niess Impressions.
– $500 to the Ward County K9 Unit on behalf of Hometown Radio Group.
Since its inception in 2015, Community Rocks! has had an economic impact on the
Minot area of $750,000, according to a release from the board. With a mission dedicated to planning and delivering performance arts events to improve our community, the Community Rocks! Board consists of: President Erik Anderson, Vice President Andy Bertsch, Jazmine Wolff-Schultz, Kristi Rosselli-Sullivan, Keli Rosselli-Sullivan, Jane Hirst, Abbie Eads, and Lindsey Bertsch.
The next Community Rocks! concert will be April 5 at the Clarion Hotel & Convention Center in Minot. The beneficiary for this event will be the F5 Project.
