The Scandi Ski Fantasy dancers from the Rinat Mouzafarov Institute of Dance and Ballet Theatre performed Thursday at Norsk Hostfest in Stockholm Hall.

The Ski Fantasy dance is part of the daily dance program scheduled at 4:15 p.m. during the festival. About 60 dancers from the Minot-based institute, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, take part in the program.

The choreography in Ski Fantasy combines ballet technique with stylized skiing motions and group formations.

The Scandi Ski Fantasy has been part of Hostfest for decades, continuing a tradition that highlights Scandinavian culture through dance. Another piece performed by the troupe during the festival is the Dance of the Norwegian Sweaters.

The Rinat Mouzafarov Institute of Dance and Ballet Theatre is a nonprofit organization that provides classical ballet training and performance opportunities in the region. Director Rinat Mouzafarov has led the group’s involvement in Hostfest for more than 30 years.
