Public can help name Minot zoo’s tiger cubs

The public can help give names to Roosevelt Park Zoo’s Amur tiger cubs while supporting the zoo’s conservation efforts, according to zoo information.
The highest bidder will receive naming rights to one of the cubs, plus special recognition including a one-of-a-kind piece of animal-created artwork.
To place a bid, go to the zoo’s website or social media page. Bidding closes at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 21.
All proceeds will support the Roosevelt Park Zoo Foundation and its mission to protect endangered species through conservation efforts.
The four cubs born May 19 will be raised by their mother at the Minot zoo until they mature at which time they will move to other zoos to meet their future mates.
Because these are live animals, not inanimate objects, we cannot guarantee their survival, even with the world-class care provided at Roosevelt Park Zoo. In the unfortunate event that an animal passes away, all donations are non-refundable, according to zoo information.
Naming rights do not imply ownership of the animal, nor do they guarantee that the animal will remain permanently housed at Roosevelt Park Zoo.
All proposed names are subject to approval by zoo staff. A list of suggested names will be provided to the winning bidder at the conclusion of the auction.
