Minot Symphony’s annual tour takes participants to secret gardens
Proceeds benefit MSO programming

This is a scene at the Saari garden, one of the Minot Symphony Orchestra’s Secret Garden Tour gardens.
The Minot Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will host its 29th annual Secret Garden Tour on Wednesday, July 12, from 4:30-8:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the programming of the Minot Symphony Orchestra, a university and community orchestra.
The Venable, Mitchell, Saari, Dyste and Johnson gardens, and First Lutheran Church’s Children’s Memorial Garden will be visited.
“The garden is where I can freely experiment with color, curves and contrast,” said Deborah Dyste, an interior designer.
During this annual open house-style event participants can travel to the featured gardens and spend time enjoying a variety of perennial and annual flower beds, vegetable gardens, and yard art while listening to the sounds of nature and local musicians.
Tickets can be purchased at Lowe’s Garden Center or Visit Minot for $15 in advance or $20 at each garden. Children under the age of 10 are free. The first stop of the tour will be First Lutheran Church at 120 5th Ave. NW. Attendees are asked to park in the north parking lot and visit the ticket booth to receive their map for the remaining gardens.
The tour will be held rain or shine, said Ellen Fenner, Minot Symphony Orchestra executive director.
