Krebs to celebrate 40th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood

On Wednesday, July 11, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church will host a celebration for Father Bruce Krebs in recognition of the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood, according to a press release.

The celebration will begin with Mass at 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace, 707 16th Ave SW. All are welcome to attend.

The Mass will be followed by a 6:30 p.m. meal at Sleep Inn, 2400 10th St. SW, Minot. Pre-purchased tickets are required for the catered meal, and are available at the parish office until Monday, July 2, or until the limited seating is filled. Krebs grew up in New England. After earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering from North Dakota State University, Fargo, he attended seminary in St. Paul, Minn., and was ordained a priest for the Catholic Diocese of Bismarck on July 7, 1978, during a Mass at his home parish, St. Mary’s in New England. He served in Dickinson, Mott and New Leipzig, before spending two and a half years in a mission in Kenya where he celebrated Mass in the Swahili language.

Upon his return to the Diocese of Bismarck, he served in Kenmare, Hettinger, Reeder, Scranton, Linton, Hazelton and Braddock. He was then assigned to St. Mary’s in Bismarck, where he served for four years, and then to Our Lady of Grace in Minot in 2007. In Minot, he serves as pastor of Our Lady of Grace where he celebrates the Mass in both English and Spanish.
