Meet the artist: Harrison Foltz

Current Hometown: Minot
Where can we see your work?
Online at harrisonfoltz.com or instagram.com/h.foltz.
Do you have work for sale?
I can make prints of any of my pictures and I am available for hire as well!

In what media do you work?
Photography.
How would you describe your style?
My style is different, I focus on doing things that others can’t or won’t do for a photo such as staying out in the dark, cold, or finding spots that other people might look past. I use themes from big city photos and change them to fit our town.
Who would you say have been influences on your work?

Humza Deas, my friends.
Are there particular themes you like to explore in your work?
I like making photos that showcase Minot’s structures and limited skyline, I also enjoy showing off leading lines and layers in the rooflines of buildings that can be found by constantly walking the streets and observing the city. My most common theme would have to be interesting light and clouds, as the wide open ND sky is such a big part of many of my photos.
What do you most enjoy about the creative process?
My favorite parts of the creative process are observing and sharing. I spend a lot of my time watching things happen and trying to capture it in a way that others will appreciate.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m 20 years old, I was born and raised in Minot. I have been taking pictures seriously for three years now but I have been interested in photography since I was old enough to hold a camera. My parents have been very supportive in helping my creative side grow over the years. I enjoy taking cityscapes, nature photos, sports, and portraits! There are few things I enjoy more than adventuring through town with my camera under the sunset.
