North Dakota State’s junior Jacob Rodin and senior Amy Phillips earned Summit League Athlete of the Week honors for their performances at SDSU’s Jim Emmerich Invitational on Jan. 22. Rodin was named the men’s track athlete of the week, and Phillips was recognized as the women’s field athlete of the week.

Rodin, of Kenmare, set a new NDSU all-time best of 1:49.00 in the 800 meters, winning the meet and ranking 12th in the nation this season. The previous indoor school record of 1:49.90 was set in 2011 by Eric Stroh.

Phillips, of England, was the top collegiate finisher in the weight throw, launching a season-best mark of 68-8 (20.93m) which ranks 19th in the NCAA this season. Phillips currently leads the league by four feet in the event.
