North Dakota State volleyball adds transfer teammates

The North Dakota State volleyball team announced the addition of two Division I transfers on Monday. Alexandria Hicks and Michelle Glover, both previously of Illinois-Chicago, will join the Bison this summer and be eligible for the 2021 season.

Hicks is a 5-foot-9 right-side hitter who comes to NDSU as a graduate transfer with one season of eligibility remaining. Glover is a 5-foot-10 middle blocker who will be a junior in the fall with two seasons left to play.

The duo ranked first and second for UIC in kills in 2019, combining for 514 on the season.

Hicks, from Carmel, Indiana’s Carmel High School, recorded 661 kills in her four seasons at UIC from 2017-21, including 249 kills with a .205 hitting percentage as a junior in 2019. She earned Horizon League All-Freshman honors in 2017 after averaging 2.13 kills to rank second on the team, as well as registering 73 blocks.

Glover, from Wheaton, Illinois’ Montini Catholic High School, was a first team All-Horizon League selection as a sophomore at UIC in 2019. She led the Flames with 265 kills and 145 blocks on the season, hitting a team-best .297 to rank third in the Horizon League. Glover averaged 1.25 blocks per set and registered five or more blocks in 16 matches as a sophomore.

Hicks owns single-match career highs of 24 kills and 7 blocks, while Glover has recorded highs of 17 kills and 10 blocks in a match.
