Racking up a record-shattering performance running the ball, the Minot State offense led the way in all-conference honors for the Beaver football team, as the NSIC announced its all-conference teams Wednesday, with the four Beavers players total earning All-NSIC North Division honors.
Three of those players came from Minot State’s record-setting offense, which rushed for an all-time school record 3,157 yards this season, a new NSIC single-season team record of 617 rushing attempts, and ranked No. 6 in the nation, averaging 286.8 rushing yards per game.
Senior running back Evan Lovett, from Tucson, Arizona, powered the run game for the Beavers, rushing for team-leading totals of 939 yards and 11 touchdowns, which earned him 1st team All-NSIC North Division honors as voted on by the league’s coaches this week. The honor is the second for Lovett, who was named 1st Team All-NSIC after the 2024 season, as well.
Also honored for the second time was Aidan Shumate, a sophomore offensive lineman from Cypress, Texas, who helped block the way for Minot State’s record-setting run game. Shumate was voted 2nd team All-NSIC North Division. Shumate was named 1st Team All-NSIC after the 2024 season. Shumate started all 11 games on the offensive line for Minot State this fall.
Joining Lovett and Shumate and earning their first All-NSIC honors were fellow offensive lineman Ace Perez and defensive end Cody Grossinger.
A redshirt freshman, also from Cypress, Texas, Perez was the third member of the Beavers’ record-setting offense honored by the league’s coaches as he was voted 2nd team All-NSIC North Division. Perez started all 11 games on the offensive line for Minot State this fall.
Leading the way for the Minot State defense, Grossinger, a redshirt junior from Buffalo, Minnesota, earned his first all-conference honor as he was voted 2nd team All-NSIC North Division on defense. Grossinger had 38 tackles this season, including 3 tackles for a loss. He added 1.5 quarterback sacks, broke up 2 passes, and had 3 quarterback hurries for the Beavers.
