Minot’s Bell trims college destination to five schools
Minot High School girls basketball junior forward Leelee Bell announced via her social media account that she has narrowed her list of college recruitments down to just five programs.
The reigning two-time Gatorade Player of the Year and No. 1 recruit in the state of North Dakota for the Class of 2026 has listed Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina and Oklahoma as her five finalists. Bell plans to make a final decision by the fall.
Bell averaged 27.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals during her junior campaign and broke the state’s Class A/Division AA all-time scoring record, helping the Magicians win their second straight West Region regular season title and eighth overall.
Bell has made official visits to three of the five schools remaining on her list: Louisville, Nebraska and North Carolina. She has received offers from more than 40 schools, including Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Maryland, Tennessee, Notre Dame and NC State.
The 6-foot-3 forward is labeled a four-star prospect, according to 247Sports.
