Track and field have record-breaking day at Bison Open

FARGO – The Bison Open was as eventful and record-breaking as you could get with the regular season winding down for Minot State Beavers Track and Field.

The North Dakota State Bison was the host school as they welcomed several teams from around the region, including Division I competition.

For the Beavers, they keep on the momentum for another week. Three records went down, and a new one was established, including one that stood for 32 years.

There were individual victories for Bailey Wride, who had one of the other record-breaking races, and Holter Bridwell. Devan Daniels, Nasir Dilworth and Kaydee Boyce also set records while the Beavers added three repeat winners in the Bison Open. Summer Krebsbach, Ramon Duran and Peyton Tuhy all worked their way back to the mountaintop in their respective events. There were also a lot of top 5 finishes by the Beavers as the day went along.

Starting off hot in the men’s 110-meter hurdles, Dilworth made a statement. He broke an all-time record that stood since 1993. He finished at 14.33 seconds, which bests Dave Knutson’s old record of 14.44.

Moving into the women’s 800-meters, Wride broke an NCAA-era record and jumped to 2nd all-time after finishing at 2 minutes and 13.33 seconds.
