MSU women’s basketball tips off season on Halloween

After a successful debut season at the helm of the Beaver women’s basketball program, head coach Ryan Clark is ready to build on his team’s success.

The second-year Minot State head coach looks to build on a season that saw the Beavers battle their way into the postseason, as Coach Clark is pleased to announce his team’s slate for the 2025-26 campaign.

Minot State opens on the road on Halloween with a now-annual trip to the Preseason Classic Tip-Off tournament, this year hosted by Simon Fraser in Langley, British Columbia. The Beavers will battle three opponents, yet to be determined, at the Preseason Classic on Friday, Oct. 31, Saturday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 2.

Following the road-trip North of the Border, Minot State returns closer to home for a pair of exhibition contests, taking on NAIA foe Mayville State on the road on Friday, Nov. 7, then a big challenge in NCAA Division I opponent Montana State, playing on the Bobcats home floor on Monday, Nov. 10.

The Beavers are back in Montana for a Sunday game on Nov. 16, a counting contest against NAIA opponent Montana State-Northern, before Minot State returns to the MSU Dome to make its home debut on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 5:30 p.m. hosting Montana State Billings.

Tuesday’s contest is the first of back-to-back nights of action on the hardwood at the MSU Dome as Minot State is back at it Wednesday, Nov. 19, hosting new 4-year program Bismarck State at 5:30 p.m. in the teams’ first official meeting since 1994.

With six counting contests and two exhibitions under their belt, the Beavers open NSIC play on the road on Tuesday, Nov. 25, with another in-state battle as Minot State heads to Bismarck to battle the University of Mary.

After one final non-conference contest at South Dakota Mines on Saturday, Nov. 29, the Beavers lock into NSIC action as they open December hosting league newcomer Jamestown on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m.

The Beavers then make a quick trip to Northern State for a game on Saturday, Dec. 6, before returning to the MSU Dome for Minot State’s final two home games of the 2025 calendar year. Minot State hosts Minnesota State Moorhead on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m., then entertains Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, Dec. 13, with tip-off time yet to be determined.

Minot State wraps up pre-Christmas play at Minnesota Duluth on Thursday, Dec. 18, and at Bemidji State on Friday, Dec. 19.

Off for two weeks to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s, Minot State bounces back into action on Saturday, Jan. 3, by hosting Mary in the first of a three-game homestand. Tip-off time is yet to be determined.

Minot State remains home for action the next weekend as St. Cloud State visits the MSU Dome on Friday, Jan. 9, at 7:30 p.m., then the Beavers host Minnesota State, Mankato on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 5:30 p.m.

Back on the road the next weekend, Minot State plays at Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Jan. 16, then at Sioux Falls on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The final month of the season begins with the Beavers home to host Augustana on Friday, Jan. 23, at 5:30 p.m., then Wayne State on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 3:30 p.m.

Back on the road to wrap up January, Minot State plays at Concordia, St. Paul on Friday, Jan. 30, then at Winona State on Saturday, Jan. 31.

Minot State is back in the Dome to host the “Battle of the Beavers” on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 5:30 p.m., then Minot State hosts Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Feb. 7, with game time yet to be determined.

The Beavers then hit the road for three straight, playing at Minnesota Crookston on Thursday, Feb. 12, then Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The road trip ends at Jamestown on Thursday, Feb. 19, before Minot State returns to the MSU Dome for Senior Day and the regular-season finale as the Beavers host Northern State on Saturday. Feb. 21. Tip-off time for Senior Day is yet to be determined.

The NSIC Tournament begins on Wednesday, Feb. 25, with first-round games at campus sites, then moves to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the final three rounds, February 28 through March 3.
