Lady Beavers hit road for weekend games away

The Beavers will hit the road again for an away weekend against the MinnesotaState University Mankato Mavericks and the Winona State University Warriors.The Beavers currently are 7-11 in conference.

Overall, the Beavers are averaging 61.3 points per game, 33.4 rebounds per game, 16 turnovers per game, and have a .390 field goal percentage.The Beavers are currently led in field goals by Maya Aguilar with 99 and 3-pointers by Aguilar as well with 51. Rebounds are led by Emma Mogen with 132, and free throws made by Sydney Gustavvson with 50.

The last time the Beavers faced the Mavericks, the Beavers fell in the 78-95-point game. During The game, Minot State University’s (MSU) defense forced 14 turnovers, Maya Aguilar led the team with a game-high 23 points, and Sydney Gustavvson secured a team-high seven rebounds.

The Mavericks currently sit 15-3 in conference play. The Mavericks are led in field goals byNatalie Bremer with 172, 3-pointers by Mackenzie Schweim with 24, and rebounds by Ava Stierwith 147.In the Beavers last face-off against the Warriors, the Beavers defeated the Warriors 68-61.

Highlights from the game included the Beavers holding the Warriors to only 34.3 percent shooting from the field and forcing 15 turnovers. Sydney Gustavvson, Maya Aguilar, and EmmaMogen combined to account for 79 percent of the Beavers points.

Sydney Gustavvson led the Beavers with a game-high 19 points and Jessica Mogen secured a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Warriors conference play record is currently 5-13. The Warriors are led in field goals by Hailey Markworth with 112, 3-pointers by Olivia Gamoke with 66 and rebounds by Vivica Bretton with 132.

MSU will face the Minnesota State University Mankato Mavericks on Friday at 7:30. On Saturday MSU is set to compete against the Winona State University Warriors at 5:30.The following week, the Beavers will take on Augustana University and Wayne State College for the last two games of conference play.
