MSU hosts Adrian College in title game rematch
The Minot State University (MSU) women’s hockey team is set to host #4 Adrian College in a two-game series at the Maysa Arena. This series is a 2024 National Championship rematch and game one on Friday is the ACHA women’s division 1 game of the week.
The Beavers take on Adrian College on Friday, November 15, at 3:45 pm for game one, and on Saturday, November 16, at 3:45 pm for game two. MSU is currently ranked #6 with a record of 10-3-0, and Adrian College is currently ranked #4 with a record of 11-3-1.
MSU is coming off of a great weekend of hockey where they went 3-0 in the WMCH Showcase in Missouri.
On Thursday, November 7, the Beavers defeated #13 Lindenwood University in overtime by a final score of 3-2. On Friday, November 8, the Beavers defeated the University of Minnesota by a final score of 2-0.
On Saturday, November 9, the Beavers defeated #3 McKendree University by a final score of 2-1. The Beavers are currently riding a 4 game winning streak and are looking to extend that streak against Adrian College.
The biggest story going into this series is that this will be a rematch of the 2024 National Championship.
Back on March 17, 2024, the Beavers fell to Adrian College by a final score of 4-1. Historically, the Beavers hold 4 total wins against Adrian College, while Adrian holds 8 wins over the Beavers.
The Beavers will be looking for some sweet revenge against Adrian College in this weekend’s series.
Journey Miller is the leading forward in points scored with 13 points on the season. Paige Kozak is the leading forward in goals scored with seven goals on the season. Paige Ackerman is the leading defensemen in points scored with nine points on the season.
Makenna Beard and Abby Pineau are the leading defensemen in goals scored with each having two goals on the season. Haylie Biever and Morgan Baker have both been incredibly strong in goal for the Beavers this season. Haylie Biever currently holds a record of 3-2-0 with a save percentage of 0.943, and Morgan Baker currently holds a record of 5-1-0 with a save percentage of 0.951.
Following this two-game series against #4 Adrian College, the Beavers will be heading to Lynchburg, Virginia for a three-game series against #1 Liberty University. Game one will be on Thursday, November 21, at 7:30 pm, game two will be on Friday, November 22, at 6:30 pm, and game three will be on Saturday, November 23, at 6:30 pm.
