Ladies Beavers soccer advances in NSIC tourney
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Minot State University (MSU) women’s soccer team shut out Augustana 1-0 Monday, November 11, on the road in South Dakota at Morstad Field.
The win was enough to advance the Beavers to round two of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) soccer tournament.
The win boosted Minot State’s record to 11-3-4 overall.
MSU started the scoring when Brooklyn Casey scored her second goal of the season in the 73rd minute, assisted by Maria Pacheco Martinez. The lone goal was the only score in the match.
MSU received one yellow card. Siriana Gudino totaled four saves for the Beavers out of six total Vikings shots. MSU peppered ten shots on goal.
In round two MSU will face Concordia-St. Paul in Mankato, Minnesota. The Lady Beavers will take on the Golden Bears on Friday, November 15, at 10 a.m. in the semifinal round of play.
Minnesota State will face University of Mary in the other semifinal match.
