Knights power past Panthers

The Glenburn girls volleyball team traveled to Minot to face the hosts at Our Redeemer’s Christian School on Thursday, October 10, in Class B volleyball action. The Panthers came ready to play as the Knights celebrated senior night.

Our Redeemer’s kept the feisty Glenburn athletes at bay and defended their home court 25-17, 25-16 and 25-23 for the sweep.

Each set showcased the volley play for each team. The Panthers had the edge defensively at the net with three blocks by Emma Jones who also had 15 kills for Glenburn.

Our Redeemer’s had the edge with the digs at 40 to 23 with Olivia Ebel recording ten, Ellie Streyle with nine, Tavia Carlson and Grace Olson each with six and Kadyn Braun with five.

At the net, the Knights were led by Carlson with ten kills while Brooklyn Roedocker and Mikayla Altringer each added six. Olson recorded 25 assists while Braun added three aces in the win.

For Glenburn, Sophie Cunningham had 25 assists as well while Aubrie Quick posted 11 digs and Jones added seven digs to her kills and blocks. Quick also had four aces in the effort.

Des Lacs-Burlington 3, Surrey 0

The Lakers traveled to Mustang territory and scored 25-15, 25-13 and 25-22 for the win over the Surrey hosts.

Des Lacs-Burlington was led by Piper Feller at the net with 13 kills and one block. Logen Ystaas had 12 kills, nine digs and three aces for the Lakers. Ava Brown added eight kills in the win. Kaylee Werner tallied 38 assists and 16 digs in the win. Hailey Goetz added 12 digs while Mycah Faken had a block for the Lakers.

McKenzie Neighbors had six kills and 11 digs to lead the Mustangs. Morgan Andersen had five kills and 17 digs in the effort. Makya Gerding and Khloe Spaulding each posted two blocks for Surrey. Alexa Ryals and Avery Cree each had seven assists in the game.

South Prairie-Max 3, Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood 0

The Royals hit the road to face the Mavericks and were able to bring home the win 25-13, 25-10 and 25-18 over the hosts.

Skylar Beck posted nine kills while Skotti Beck added six kills and eight digs for South Prairie-Max. Abby Mikkelson had three blocks and two aces. Reagan Trudell posted 25 assists and four aces in the win. Delaney Hankel had 12 digs for the Royals as well.

Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood was led by Emerson Lamb with five kills, Jordyn Moberg with five digs, Archer Ackerson with seven assists and Cloe Weathers with a pair of aces in the effort.
