Jason Two Crow football camp at Parshall next week
The football ‘bug’ is itching as the summer progresses and fall approaches. Most high school teams will be hosting camps and holding fall practices and official practices start in August.
One camp in particular stands out among the others. The Jason Two Crow football camp is actually a memorial camp honoring the player, coach and native of the Parshall area of North Dakota who passed away in 2021.
Two Crow attended school in Parshall, played basketball, golf, boxed, was on the track and field team and was an active member of the National Honor Society. His favorite extracurricular activity was football.
Two Crow played football at Minot State University (MSU), was a running back that was inducted with the 1992 football team into the MSU Hall of Fame for their success on and off the field. He would earn his undergraduate degree in business from the University of Mary in Bismarck.
Two Crow transitioned to coaching in his old stomping grounds. He was actively involved in basketball, football as a coach and coached the varsity football team in New Town.
As a coach and a father, he enjoyed watching his sons take an active roll in playing the family game. His son, Dexter, was able to tie Jason’s school record of five touchdowns in a single.
The camp is hosted by MSU coaches and local coaches.
“I will be there with 3 or 4 of our coaches,” said MSU head football coach Ian Shields. “We are looking forward to this [camp] very much.”
Some of those slotted to attend and run the camp are;
Ian Shields, MSU Head Coach
Randy Hedberg, NDSU Associate Head Coach / QB Coach
Jay Clauson, Parshall High School
Payton Two Crow, Parshall High School
Brent Danks, Stanley High School
The camp will take place at Parshall High School from Wednesday, July 17, and Thursday, July 18, with grades 3-6 attending from 9 a.m. to noon and grades 7-12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
