Majettes unbeaten streak, shutout streak in tact

KARI GIBB/MDN Minot High senior Emerson Perrin (22) works the ball past Williston sophomore Brynna Doyle (15) for a shot on goal while Majettes junior Jayda Schall (20) watches.

The Williston Coyotes were the last team on the schedule with a shot at breaking one of the two streaks that the Minot High girls soccer team are showcasing — the unbeaten streak and the shutout streak. Williston joined the long list of those unable to affect either one as Minot High took the win 17-0 before state play starts next week.

The Majettes scored ten goals in the first half and seven more in the second. There were 14 saves by the Coyotes in addition to the goals scored. There were no shots on the Minot High goal in the game. Kinsli Gilmore has not allowed a goal to be scored this season.

Scoring began early for the Majettes. Two minutes into the game, Lexi Schauer passed the ball to Morgan Forthun who scored and seven minutes later, Emerson Perrin scored an unassisted goal. One minute later Bria Lewis passed the ball to Jayva McKibben for the third score of the game. Two minutes later, Perrin scored again with KcKibben getting the assist on the fourth goal. At the 15th minute mark, Aleah Gibbons scored off a Syvanna Fowler pass for the fifth goal.

K Roberts would score four of the next five goals with assists from Perrin and Aleah Gibbons. Ella Nelson scored off an Ava Lopez pass as well.

Second half goals were made by Camdyn Varty, Grace Hegstad, Syvamma Fowler, Makenna Aldrich, Lopez, Cambri Schatz and Cayley Gibbons. Assists were by Bria and Julia Lewis, Perrin, Schall and Biannca Cofell. Four of the 17 goals were unassisted.
