The win for Minot placed them in the semifinals, where they matched up the Century Patriots who took down the host team, Mandan, to open tournament play. With a win in this round, Minot had a chance to secure a state tournament bid.

Continuing their dominance throughout the day, Minot once again pulled off another sweep as they took down Century, 5-0, to earn a spot in the West Region championship and to qualify for the state tournament as a team.
