MSU men’s, women’s golf finish fourth at final invite
In their final event of the fall season, the Minot State men’s and women’s golf teams participated in the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, which was hosted by Montana State, Billings.
Finishing with a team score of 909, the Beavers men’s team finished in fourth-place at the invite. Host team Montana State took the top spot with a team score of 860.
South Dakota School of Mines (874), University of Jamestown (886), Minot State (909), University of Mary (915), Montana State – Billings (924), South Dakota School of Mines (929), and Valley City State (936) made up the remainder of the team standings.
Leading the way for the Beavers were Zach Hendrickson and Andrew Makarchuk, who both finished in a tie for fifteenth overall by shooting a 224 across three rounds.
Aimery Barrault (25th, 229), Henry Langhans (32nd, 239), and Joshua Tu (33rd, 240) made up the rest of the finishes for the men’s program.
On the women’s side, the Beavers finished in fourth-place as well, finishing with a team score of 668. South Dakota School of Mines & Tech took first-place with a team score of 634.
Montana State – Billings (651), University of Mary (656), Minot State (668), Black Hills State (682), South Dakota School of Mines & Tech (698), and Valley City State (771) were the remaining team standings.
Taylor Cormier shot a 158 across two rounds to lead the way for the Beavers at fourth overall. Additionally, Jaci Jones was not far behind, shooting a 161 which was good for fifth overall.
Holly Knudsen (10th, 164), Abigail Goettle (34th, 193), and Averi Bradley (34th, 193) rounded out the finishes for the women’s team, in what was a successful showing.
