Following some time off, the Minot High swim and dive team was back in action on Saturday as the squad participated in the Capital City Invite.

Nine days prior, the Majettes were coming off a strong showing at the LHS/CHS Dual, where the team had multiple top finishes and state qualifiers, and they looked to continue that trend over the weekend.

Competing against seven different schools, the team’s hopes would come to fruition as they finished the invite with a 6-1 record. Their only loss of the night came on a slim margin, as Century topped the Majettes 95.00 to 91.00.

Their wins, however, came about in a commanding way as they beat Bismarck (142.00 to 38.00), Williston (129.00 to 57.00), Dickinson (124.00 to 62.00), Horace (133.00 to 53.00), Legacy (124.00 to 62.00), and Mandan (138.00 to 48.00).

Displaying a similar trend to their last action, the Majettes would once again fill out the final results with a variety of top finishers and top relay teams.

The 200-yard medley relay team (Ava Williamson, Elise Altringer, Sam Vonbokern, Bostyn Edwards), Elise Altringer (200-yard freestyle), Ava Williamson (200-yard IM and 100-yard backstroke), Sam Vonbokern (50- and 100-yard freestyles), and the 400-yard freestyle relay team (Williamson, Vonbokern, Altringer, and Reese Goodman) all finished atop their events on the swimming side of things.

In the lone diving event, Haley Conklin took the top spot. Ella Kesler finished in second and Ashlyn Nielsen in fourth, as the divers continue to have a terrific start to the 2022 season.
