2022 Babe Ruth World Series coming to Williston

Later this month, the 2022 Babe Ruth World Series will be making its way to Williston in what will be a full week of action as some of the best 14-year-old ballplayers and teams will have the opportunity to match up against the top talent in the country.

The series will take place from Aug. 13-20 and will be held at Aafedt Stadium in Williston. In addition to games being played, there will be a variety of events including opening ceremonies, a skills competition, fireworks display, drone light show, and closing ceremonies.

Adding to the excitement for the players, coaches, families, and fans in attendance, there will be a banquet on Aug. 12, called the Banquet of Champions, that will feature former MVP and two-time World Series champion, Kirk Gibson, as the guest speaker for the night.

North Dakota will be well represented at the Babe Ruth World Series, with teams from Williston, West Fargo and Fargo set to participate.

In addition to the local teams, there will be teams participating from Mifflin Co, Pa., Tallahassee, Fla., Tri-Valley, Calif., Puyallup, Wash., Arkadelphia, Ark., Norfolk, Mass., and Eau Claire, Wis.

There will be two division in the tournament, the American Division, and the National Division. The American Division will be composed of the teams from Eau Claire, Norfolk, Fargo, Mifflin Co, and Williston.

For the National Division, that will feature teams from Arkadelphia, Tri-Valley, West Fargo, Tallahassee, and Puyallup.

Pool play between the divisions will begin on Aug. 13 and will run through Aug.17. From there, the top three teams from each division will advance to a single elimination bracket that will determine the 2022 Babe Ruth World Series champion.
