North Dakota opens regular season at home vs. Niagara
The No. 8/7 University of North Dakota hockey program will turn the page to the regular season for the first time in 2021-22, hosting Niagara on Oct. 8-9 from Ralph Engelstad Arena.
UND has won all seven of the previous meetings between the two teams, featuring a pair of series played at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The two programs have met twice in the NCAA Tournament, including the first all-time showdown in UND’s national championship season of 2000.
The sides also met in Grand Rapids, Mich. during the 2013 NCAA Tournament, with North Dakota coming away with a 2-1 win. The Purple Eagles last made a visit to Grand Forks in the 2015-16 season, with UND outscoring Niagara, 12-1, in the series sweep.
