Minot State announces Hall of Fame Class of 2021

Set to induct honorees on Oct. 8

After putting the ceremony on hold last fall, the Minot State University Athletic department has announced the return of the Hall of Fame weekend, which will be twice as special as the Beavers will honor and induct the 41st and 42nd classes into the Minot State Athletics Hall of Fame.

The class of 2020, which was announced last fall but has waited to be honored because of COVID, features former MLB umpire and Beavers baseball player, Gary Cederstrom, former Minot State women’s basketball head coach Sheila Green Gerding, the 2004-05 men’s basketball team, former football defensive lineman Ian Best, and former softball pitcher Mandy Greenberg.

Meanwhile, the class of 2021 features Minot State distance runner Jarret Baker, Beaver record holder and professional women’s basketball player Carly Boag, and NAIA National Champion gymnasts Robbin (Wheeler) Filkowski.

The induction ceremony will be at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center on Friday, Oct. 8, at 5 p.m., and then all the newest members of the Minot State Athletics Hall of Fame will be honored at halftime of the Beavers homecoming football game against Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Tickets for the induction ceremony, which includes dinner, are $20 for adults and $10 for children. There also will be a cash bar for beverages.
