Metros drop elmination game 6-5 to Caps in Jamestown

The West Fargo Patriots are Class AA state champs.

In American Legion tournament action over the weekend, it was West Wargo who defeated Fargo Post 400 by a 3-1 final in Mandan on Saturday in the state title game. Earlier that day, West Fargo kept its state title hopes alive by virtue of a 2-0 win over Bismarck. The previous day, West Fargo won a semifinals elimination game against the Minot Vistas by a final tally of 14-6.

Meanwhile in Class A Legion baseball tournamet news, the Minot Metros saw its season come to an end in Jamestown following a 6-5 defeat at the hands of the Bismarck Capitals in a Saturday elimination game matchup.

The Metros exploded for a five-run first inning, but eventually surrended six runs in the first two innings to come up a run short on the scoreboard. The Metros tallied eight hits compared to six for the Capitals, but committed four errors in defeat.
