NDSU cross country teams earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Bartholomay claims individual award

The North Dakota State University men’s cross country team posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.636 for the 2020-21 season, earning the All-Academic Team award from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

In addition, NDSU senior Alex Bartholomay was recognized individually as an All-Academic performer. Bartholomay owns a 3.57 cumulative GPA pursuing a master of accountancy degree and was NDSU’s top finisher at the Summit League Championships, taking fifth place overall.

This is the ninth consecutive year that NDSU claimed the team academic award. The Bison men have had 25 straight semesters with a team GPA above 3.0, and all 12 team members own cumulative GPAs of 3.25 or better. The NDSU men finished second in the team race for the fourth consecutive year at the Summit League Championships.

Meanwhile, the North Dakota State women’s cross country team also earned the All-Academic Team award from the USTFCCCA. The Bison women’s program posted a 3.538 cumulative grade point average for the 2020-21 season. NDSU has had 19 consecutive semesters with a team GPA of at least 3.30, and 15 of the 17 team members own cumulative GPAs above 3.30.
