Minot High gymnastics takes sixth at WDAs

With a team score of 124.7, the Minot Majettes placed sixth in a seven-team field at the WDA Championships in Dickinson on Friday.

Meanwhile, host Dickinson was the competition’s overall winner with a score of 145.5. For the Majettes, Haley Conklin was the club’s top performer in all five events. In the all-around, her score of 34.55 was good for 13th overall. In the vault, Conklin posted a score of 8.725 which put her at 18th overall.

The uneven bars event was where Conklin earned her top finish of the competition, placing eighth with a score of 8.3. She also placed 20th in the balance beam (8.45) and tied for 11th in the floor exercise (9.075).

Up next for the Majettes gymnastics squad, they are slated to participate in the state meet at Jamestown which will take place on Feb. 26 and 27.
