Majettes volleyball picks up first win in Williston

WILLISTON — The Minot High School volleyball team made quick work of Williston Tuesday evening. The Majettes (1-1, 1-1 WDA) won by set scores of 25-11, 25-10, 25-10, to capture their first win of the young season.

Williston dropped to 0-2 overall (0-2 WDA).

“We played with consistency,” MHS head coach Sherry Carlson said. “I feel the girls are continuing to think the game and are more intentional in their shots. The defense did a great job tonight. So, overall, great night and we will continue to build.”

Individual statistics weren’t available due to technology issues.

The Majettes are back on the court Thursday evening with an 8 p.m. conference affair at Dickinson.

Magi soccer drops 2-0 affair in Bismarck

BISMARCK — The Minot High School boys soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat Tuesday evening in Bismarck.

The Magi (4-2-1, 4-2-1 WDA) gave up two goals in the second half to Bismarck High (5-2-2, 5-1-1 WDA) at the Bismarck Community Bowl.

Edwin Rasidovic scored the first one 2:30 into the second half. Sergio Dionico added the other to put the game away with 10 minutes remaining.

Minot High was outshot 21-10 (11-8 on target). MHS goalkeeper JJ Dufner made eight saves.

The Magi have another 5:30 p.m. road contest Thursday against Dickinson.

Majettes golf finishes eighth at Mandan Invite

MANDAN — The Minot High girls golf team returned to action on Tuesday and posted a team score of 380 for an eighth-place finish.

Century’s Hannah Herbel won individual medalist honors after defeating Mandan’s Anna Heuttl in a playoff. The Patriots earned the victory with a final score of 349.

Minot senior Bella Dobrinski (92) shot the Majettes’ lowest score. Fellow senior Savanah Brintnell added a score of 94.

Junior Addison Sorenson recorded a 95 for the Majettes, while senior Sydni Gartner posted a 99. Senior Taryn Trueblood (101) and junior Avery Falcon (104) also golfed for Minot.

The Majettes will host the Minot Invite on Friday, Sept. 18 at the Vardon Golf Club.
