Majettes swimming and diving outnumbered Bismarck High

BISMARCK — The swimming and diving Majettes travelled to Bismarck High Thursday for a dual at Bismarck Aquatic Center. The Majettes took the meet, 138-44.

“We had an okay meet today,” Majettes head coach Emily Jensen said. “There were some positive moments here and there… We out numbered (Bismarck High), but struggled with a few things.”

The Majettes took first in every event. Shear numbers kept the Majettes ahead of the Demons Thursday.

“The younger swimmers still are working on learning to race in events that they don’t consider their best events,” Jensen said. “We have a nice training week before we head to Fargo next Friday. There are some things that we’d like to fine tune and tweet before next weekend.”

Emily Brugman took first in both her individual events. She finished with a 2:27.31 in the 200-yard individual medley and a 1:06.00 in the 100-yard butterfly.

Senior Rylie Webb took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a 26.08 and the 100-yard freestyle with a 57.20.

Ashley Chabot took first in the 500-yard freestyle with a final time of 5:50.48. Elise Altringer finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:19.36.

The Majettes will be back in the water Friday, Sept. 21, for a dual against Fargo at Fargo North High School. They will then take part in an invitational at West Fargo High School Saturday, Sept. 22.

“Our swimmers are excited to see those teams we haven’t seen yet this season,” Jensen said. “After next weekend we will have a better understanding hopefully where we are sitting as a team for each event.”
