Majettes fall to Fargo North-South 5-4 in OT

The Minot High girls hockey team had the No. 1 team in the state on the ropes at home, but Fargo North-South was able to escape Friday evening with 5-4 overtime win at Maysa Arena.

After falling behind two goals in the first period, the Majettes scored four unanswered goals across the first and second periods with senior MacKinzy MacIver grabbing a hat trick in the process. The other goal came from Mahlee Sem and was assisted by Olivia Weisberg.

Fargo North-South turned the contest around with a short-handed goal from Graysen Myers with 1.2 seconds left in the second period.

Avery Myers tied the game up with 5:54 ticked off the clock in the third period to force overtime, where Sami Trana completed the come back for Fargo North-South after 4:21 had been played in the extra frame.

The Majettes return to the ice this afternoon at 2 p.m. against West Fargo in their final home game at Maysa Arena this season.
