Greetings from The Wellington Independent and Assisted Living retirement community! What a beautiful summer we have enjoyed. It appears that many of our waterfowl have already headed south for the winter. True snowbirds! Did you know you could be a “snowbird” at The Wellington? The Wellington was recently the recipient of a tremendous honor being named “Best Assisted Living” for 2022-23 by U.S. News! We are so grateful for this distinction that comes from surveys completed by our residents and their families. We have the best residents and they have the best families!!

September brings all of our Fall fun. Grandparent’s Day on Sep. 11 is the kick-off to National Assisted Living Week. This year’s theme is Joyful Moments. We have plans to bring as many joyful moments to our residents as is possible in one short week! Not only will we celebrate the wonderful world of assisted living, but we will also celebrate all of our hard working staff that are essential to the well-being of our Wellington residents each and every day. Some of the planned activities during National Assisted Living Week include a banana split social, pizza party, classic game shows (Jeopardy, Family Feud, Press Your Luck, and Price is Right)! We will have a farmer’s appreciation day, a day full of colors, sports day and a casino day!! It will be a whirlwind of a week but so much fun!

We continue to invite all of the area veteran’s…past and present…to come to The Wellington on the last Friday of each month to enjoy a pancake breakfast with us. It is truly an honor to watch and listen to the camaraderie that happens during that time!

October is sure to bring out the pumpkins, ghouls and goblins. We hope to bring kiddos back for trick-or-treat this year. Watch our Facebook page for details! The holidays in November, Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving, remind us appreciate our brave veterans’ sacrifices, be grateful for the Fall’s harvest, thankful for the love and support of our family and friends, and give thanks for the blessings of the past year.
