Hypocrisy

One of the things that people across the board find pathetic, misleading and downright disgusting is hypocrisy. Especially when it comes from a person in a position of power, at a lectern with a mic, who is pretending to be holier than thou. Yet, when they are not at the lectern, their actions are something entirely different: “Do as I say, not as I do.” Well, that’s the case of former vice president Joe Biden, but we’ll come back to this a little later.

It goes without saying that President Donald Trump should never have sat down with Bob Woodward and, to be frank, I can’t understand why the president continues to sit down with reporters who, as the adage goes, “Don’t mean him any good.” It’s no secret that the mainstream media isn’t a fan of Trump, and yet here we are again. Mr. President, why do you keep putting yourself in this predicament? Why do you continue to give reporters, who only seek to malign you, the time of day? It just doesn’t make any sense. Furthermore, those around you do not have your best interests at heart. If they did, this interview would have never occurred. If Trump wins the reelection in November, he needs to truly clean house once and for all.

You can’t but the toothpaste back in the tube, and now Woodward has a new book, “Rage.” To build momentum for the book, he has released tapes of his interviews with the president. The spin so far has been that Trump knew just how deadly the COVID-19 virus was and hid it from the American people. However, this couldn’t be the furthest thing from the truth because, in the same interview, the president stated he “didn’t want to incite panic,” which, ultimately, was the right decision. At the time of the interview, there were still many uncertainties about the virus that required more research and debate among experts. It would have been grossly negligent for Trump to cause a national panic without being able to articulate why and without the evidence to back it up. Instead, he took decisive steps, like banning travel from China, to limit the spread while we gathered more information about the virus.

However, that wasn’t enough to appease Democratic nominee Joe Biden, who went on to attack Trump during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. Unsurprisingly, Jake didn’t challenge the former vice president on his positions on the same topic, COVID-19. Biden has been a hypocrite, and he needs to be called out. He’s attacking Trump for not wanting to incite panic, yet that is the same measured step he took with his very own statements.

“But I want to take a moment to say it’s not a time to panic about coronavirus, but coronavirus is a serious public health challenge,” Biden said. He repeated this sentiment for people not to “panic” during a speech about the coronavirus on March 12, the day after the World Health Organization gave the notice that the virus was officially a “pandemic.” Trump attempted to maintain calm — what Biden did as well — but somehow, Trump is now in the wrong, a typical double standard by those on the left.

Democrats and their leftist media allies have chosen to work against Trump at every turn. Instead of attempting to work with the president to unite the country to keep Americans safe, they’ve opted to score political points, although many Democrats iterated the same tone as the president.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi similarly downplayed the virus when she said: “It’s very safe to be in Chinatown and hope that others will come. It’s lovely here. The food is delicious; the shops are prospering; the parade was great. Walking tours continue. Please come and visit and enjoy Chinatown.” Pelosi did this as to not incite panic and fear among her constituents towards the Asian community. Let’s also not forget that the mainstream media and Democrats also heavily criticized the travel ban from China. Democrats like Biden and Pelosi are hypocrites and are using the death of Americans to win a presidential election. For that, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Trump didn’t do anything different than Biden or Pelosi, but the media ignores the hypocrisy while pouncing on Trump, calling him evil and all sorts of other ridiculous names. “Why,” you might ask? Well, the answer to that is simple; it suits their agenda. Trump did the right thing then and continues to do the right thing today by leading with a stable and steady hand as we navigate this global pandemic. That’s precisely what we need in a president.
