Science’s high priest has no robes

The faithful public servants of the fourth estate working at PBS have accidentally gone and done a work of revealing and genuine journalism. I know, I’m shocked as well. While typically committed to their stated ideological mission of giving the Biden Administration it’s daily tongue bath, PBS took a break to release what surely was supposed to be the puffiest of puff pieces about one of the most divisive and venerated public servants in the country, the thankfully retired Anthony Fauci.

Produced for their ominously titled “American Masters” series, the clips released to promote the piece in question is unintentionally hilarious and inspiring, even as they ooze with the authoritarian energy that coursed through the psychosphere of the nation during the COVID era.

For some reason, PBS was walking door to door with Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser and Fauci in 2021 as they tried to convince locals in certain “vulnerable demographics” to get up to date on their COVID-19 shots. Not every individual they encountered was receptive; some were brazenly skeptical and hostile, peppering Fauci and the assembled missionaries of THE SCIENCE with an onslaught of rebukes and questions that can only come from having too much to think.

The context of the moment for Fauci comes at the height of his powers during the first months of the Biden Administration. The documentary tells us the burdens on the COVID Ecclesiarch were immense, no doubt made worth it thanks to the adulation and reverence from neoliberal statists and a decrepit press. While it certainly was delicious to see an average American defy a fallacious fear monger such as Fauci to his face, the man walked away as unflapped and inflated as ever.

But as made evident by everything else captured by PBS of this “American Master” over the course of nearly 2 years of non-stop documentary coverage of Fauci, the man is incapable of self-reflection let alone self-awareness. He’s the living embodiment of the popular internet meme of “The Simpsons” character Principal Skinner, wherein he abandons clarity and self-assessment in favor of just declaring, “No, it’s the children who are wrong.”

His reaction is predictable if not still bizarre, considering at the time he knew what the rubes were throwing in his face was true. We know this because of his emails coordinating and controlling the narrative around COVID and its realities. Have you read them? If you still have a Fauci prayer candle or have emblazoned your body with a tattoo of your Pfizer vaccination card, maybe you should.

Here was a man able to rule by decree, who maliciously silenced his critics, and cajoled scientists who were dependent on his grant allocations into suppressing narratives that harmed the bottom line. Which is to say anything that undermined the power and authority of alleged public servants like Fauci, who set the tone and direction for the rhetoric and policy decisions of every form of government and administration. Not to mention the primacy his words held for every corporation, website and business willing to blur the line between the separation between private enterprise and state control.

In early 2022, I moved to Minot and found temporary employment in Velva working for a certain pretzel company. When I was hired on, it was up in the air exactly how the Supreme Court would rule on the Vaccine Mandate being rammed through by Biden’s executive fiat. I found myself in a pickle. Despite countless opportunities I had yet to test positive for the virus, and for my own reasons had chosen not to be an early adopter of RNA medical technology. I had seen Dennis Kelly’s “Utopia” after all.

I showed up to my first day facing the very real possibility that I’d be expected to produce one negative COVID test a week to be allowed to work. Wouldn’t you know it, that was the day the decision had come down to block Biden’s executive order. Let me tell you, my fellow employees looked just as relieved as I was. The scuttlebutt was that a significant portion of the workforce was probably going to have to walk away from the job if that mandate had been deemed constitutional.

When we got the follow-up news that mask requirements were also going out the window, there was whooping and clapping. Only one of my co-workers voiced disappointment and continued wearing a mask even after everyone else had tossed theirs aside. I recall her saying the mask, “made it easier to breath,” and there’s a half dozen ways one could begin unpacking that one.

Seeing Fauci himself admit on camera in the PBS documentary that he also experienced the same exact adverse vaccine reactions as many of the American’s being silenced and ignored by the Complex he controls, doesn’t make me regret my choice. But it should make those who thoughtlessly followed this man to maybe reconsider why they swallowed so much of what he was saying without question.

The point being the bureaucratic and corporate complexes around Fauci that propagandize still to this day on his behalf have impeached themselves and shredded their credibility with large swathes of the American public. Anyone pretending that the D.C. residents who sent Fauci and his toadies packing are representative of some cadre of ignorant flyover Trump voters is either being deliberately obtuse or have themselves had critical thinking acid washed from their folds by incessant propaganda and algorithmically driven messaging.

Or they just desperately need it to be true that their critics are maliciously ignorant idiots who are nothing more than a drain on society and who don’t understand how much they owe to the living saints doing SCIENCE’S work.

From the perspective of those deranged by Fauci, the ungrateful unvaccinated don’t deserve to live. In fact, there’s a truly despicable and ghoulish community of more than 500,000 Covidians on the website Reddit who curate a forum called “The Herman Cain Awards.” Named after the late businessman and Republican politician, it’s a forum for people to gloat and relish in the deaths of those who publicly contravened or were skeptical of THE SCIENCE. Some of them may have simply voted Republican. Even if they didn’t, they died of COVID and lived outside of a coastal metro, so they probably deserved it.

I’m only being slightly sarcastic; this sentiment is not uncommon from the fervent zealots of the COVID cult. This shouldn’t be shocking considering it’s the same site that blocks and deletes anyone for doing nothing more than sharing VAERS report data or anecdotes and concerns about the same.

The only way one can delight this much in the death of a stranger, is by being completely possessed by an ideology or belief typically reserved for the divine or at least toxic sports fandom. You won’t see Fauci disabuse the manic crowds of perpetually fearful Covidians in the country, driven as he is by his own ego rather than the public good. If you think I’m being unfair, we’re talking about a dude who has no less than three self-portraits hanging in his office, not to mention all the candles and bobbleheads.

I’ll expand on a notion put forth by George Orwell, but you either print what people don’t want you to say, or you can just sit on the puppeteer’s knee with their hand up your rear. Until my fellow journalists and pundits, not to mention SCIENTISTS are willing to reflect and report on the actions of Fauci and the COVID regime authentically and honestly, we will have to be satisfied with the accidental acts of journalism revealing that their High Priest has no robes. Though, that would involve admitting that neither do they.
