Remember the Swine Flu (H1N1) virus?

James Campbell, Minot

From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, the CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases, 274,304 hospitalizations and 12,469 deaths in the United States due to the swine flu (H1N1) virus. I doubt very many people remember this problem because the opposing party did not make it a political issue and the press did not hype it as a negative issue for the administration.

As of March 12, 2020, the CDC estimates there are 1,215 cases and 36 deaths because of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This virus is still small compared to the swine flu.

The opposing party is making this health issue very political and the main stream media is constantly bashing this administration. If you don’t remember who was president during the swine flu, it was Obama and the main stream media never gave him very much negative news.

Please stop panicking.
