First of all, the Reservation system in this country is reminiscent of Banana Republics. The idea that the Reservations are sovereign is a farce.
Everyone knows they are not. But if they were, or are, the Reservations don’t need a reason to say no. Eminent domain does not apply. If the pipelines and the U.S. government can’t make an offer that the Reservations can’t refuse, find a different route, or give it up.
