May 22, 1927-June 2, 2024 Minot Edith Porter, 97, long-time Minot, ND, resident passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024 in her home. Edith Shavers was born on May 22, 1927, in Brandon Manitoba, Canada, a daughter of Max and Sarah (Gilmore) Shavers. Her father was a furrier and ran a fur store with the help of her mother in Brandon. On February 9, 1947, Edith was united in marriage to Harold Porter in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
