Leland Dammen, 92, Minot, died Tuesday, Dec. 30 in his home.
Leland Clayton Dammen was born on February 25, 1933, a son of Clarence and Oline (Sorenson) Dammen in Edmore, ND. He was raised and educated in the Edmore, Fairdale and Hope area.
In April of 1953, Leland enlisted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. Leland was honorably discharged in 1954.
On April 11, 1953, Leland was united in marriage to Signe Marie Lee in Finley, ND. They moved to Minot in October of 1954, where they raised their three children Susan, Michael and James. Signe passed away on April 5, 2008. Leland continued to live in Minot.
Leland held many positions throughout his lifetime, he worked for Frito Lay, prior to becoming the City of Minot Assessor, a position he held for over 28 years prior to retirement. He also owned and operated Northland Mobile Home Park for 30 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fixing cars, visiting with friends over coffee, and had an appreciation for music.
He is survived by: Daughter: Susan (David) Zietlow; Daughters-in-law: Dee Dee Dammen, Barbara Dammen; grandchildren: Desidy (Jason) Rohrer, Mindy (Josh) Fulsebakke, David (Tabitha) Zietlow Jr., Adam (Lexi Williams) Zietlow, Paula(Tim) Tuttle, Patti (Jason) Huffman, Nick Dammen, Crystal (Jon) Boelter; step-grandchild Rita Stadler; Great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Gabrielle Rohrer, Langdon, Oakley and Elliott Zietlow, Kaiden and Tatum Zietlow, Gabe and Adeline Tuttle, Conner, Skye, Gracie and Ethan Huffman; step-great-grandchildren: Amber Stadler, Sativa, Nahtay, and Brocke Marbell; Siblings: Edie Johnson, Kenny (Janet) Dammen, Carol Gilseth, Dave (Linda) Dammen; in-laws: Louise Zerface, Ed Kainz; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years Signe, sons Michael and James, a brother Myron (Joanne), in-laws Harvey Johnson, Darrel Gilseth, Phil Zerface, David (Joan) Lee and Marge Kainz and a nephew Chad Dammen.
Visitation: Friday, January 2, 2026 from 3 until 5 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot
Funeral Service: Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot
Burial: Monday, January 5, 2026 at 10 am at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
