On October 27, 2025, Carolyn Marie Olson peacefully passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home with Jesus.

Carolyn Marie Anderson was born in Sheyenne, ND, on November 13, 1954, to Clarence and Marilyn (Logen) Anderson. She graduated from Sheyenne High School before moving to Velva with her family in 1972. In Velva, she met her husband, Jim Olson.

Carolyn and Jim were married on September 13, 1975, and made their life-long home in Velva. Carolyn attended Trinity School of Nursing and graduated as an RN in 1975. Carolyn worked as an RN at Souris Valley Care Center, Trinity Hospital and Velva Clinic. Carolyn was the first director of nursing at Souris Valley Care Center.

In the 1990s, Carolyn was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). Her deteriorating health forced her to quit working as a nurse in the early 2000s, and the disease continued to progress throughout the rest of her life.

Carolyn and he were blessed with three boys: Aaron, Nathan (deceased), and Bryan; and with nine grandchildren. Despite her ill health, Carolyn still found joy in her family and pastimes. She enjoyed music, reading, her dogs, visiting, and her Hallmark movies.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim; son, Aaron (Roxann) and Bryan (Samantha); grandchildren: Mariah, Oakley, Aaden, Finley, Anya, Norah, Aaralyn, Abram and Ophelia; brothers David (Linda) and Mark (Jill),

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Nathan.

Funeral: Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Interment: Velva Community Cemetery, Velva, ND.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
