Beverly Ann Jacobson, 78, Minot, passed away on Thursday in Minot.

She was born Dec. 26, 1946, to Ruth and Clovis Ralph in Crosby.

Bev was confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby where she was a lifetime member and served as church organist for many decades.

She was a proud graduate of Minot State University earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Education.

On August 27, 1967, Bev married I.J. Jacobson in Crosby. They were married 53 years before I.J. passed away in 2021, and together they raised five children: Krista, Erik, Trina, Lara and Jessa.

For more than 40 years, Bev and I.J. owned and operated J.Co. Drug. She loved hosting special events at the store and was a big promoter of Crosby.

Together with I.J, she worked hard to achieve and maintain Hallmark Gold Crown Standards. She loved her family and friends, her home, her Hallmark collections and going to Hallmark conventions with I.J. Even in her retirement she worked at other Hallmark stores.

She loved decorating her house and store for every holiday and dressing up for any and all occasions. She was always ready for a cup of coffee and a visit with friends on the porch.

Bev was preceded in death by husband I.J., son Erik, her parents Ruth & Clovis Ralph, step-father Marvin Koppang, sisters-in-law Margie Jacobson & Marilyn Mitchell, and brother-in-law Steve Rodvold.

She is survived by her children: Krista (Matt) Freed, Rochester, MN., Trina Johnson, Minneapolis, MN, Lara (Terry) Smoley, Rochester, MN, Jessa (Tom) Rafferty, Minot, and daughter-in-law, Tasha Jacobson, Columbus.

Grandchildren include: Grace, Greta, & Graham Freed; Louis, Pauline, Jeanne, & Juliette Johnson; Mya (Dylan) Hannah & Mattie Jacobson; Evan & Ivy Smoley; Spencer & Jovie Rafferty. Great grandchildren: Beckham & Fox Hannah.

Bev is also survived by her Brother, Richard (Yvonne) Ralph; Sisters-in-law, Karen (Dale) Lucas, Jeanine Rodvold, Laurie (Kipp) Jenson, Luann (Danny) Roehrich. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and fellow Hallmark lovers.

Bev’s funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on June 9, 2025, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby. A fellowship gathering will be in the Crosby Community Center following the service.

Stakston-Martin Funeral home is handling the arrangements.
