Sally Stevens

June 5, 1940-Nov. 7, 2024
Minot
Sally Mae Stevens, 84, Minot, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at her home.
Sally was born on June 5, 1940 in Esmond, ND, the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Graber) Stevens. They lived on a farm south of Esmond. Sally was attending the Rich Valley School until her father had received advice from a doctor that he needed to move to a warmer climate for his health. The family packed up everything they could into a small travel trailer and headed south, settling in Corpus Christi, TX. They lived in the trailer for several years until the family built a home. Sally lived with her parents and continued her schooling in Corpus Christi. In her late teens, she returned to North Dakota where she lived with her aunt and uncle, Saloma and Bill Gray in Oakes. From Oakes she moved to Minot where she worked at King’s Food Host and Kentucky Fried Chicken South, where she worked for many years until her retirement.
Sally was active in the Special Olympics, especially basketball, and Second Story. In her later years she greatly enjoyed helping with Thursday bingo at the Surrey Senior Center. She was a friend to all she met and could start a conversation with anyone.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Everett Stevens, Corpus Christi, TX, and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank KALIX for all their wonderful care over the years.
